Be You Inc. is a not-for-profit performing arts organisation that provides opportunities for young artists to perform alongside and learn from industry professionals - among other things. They are the company behind the popular variety Music Theatre show Broadway Unplugged which saw collaboration with some of Australia’s top music theatre performers.

In light of recent events in the theatre industry surrounding racial discrimination and white washed casting, Be You Inc. have fast tracked the launch of a new initiative they've had in the pipe line: a grant for young people who are looking to audition for drama school/performing arts tertiary programs, but aren’t able to cover the costs of the application fee. Performing arts programs currently charge around $75 per application per school per person which provides a significant financial barrier for many young POC and financially disadvantaged artists. 

Be You Inc. set up a Go Fund Me page and shared it amongst friends in the performing arts industry who have generously donated so that they now have over 100 grants to give away. In addition; because the project has grown so rapidly, Be You Inc. have had highly esteemed professionals in the industry reach out and offer further support for those who receive grants. A mentorship program is being set up to run concurrently with the gran which would be to further assist the grant recipients throughout their audition journey and support them through what can be a very nerve-wracking experience.
