Huonville High School/Huon Valley Trade Training Centre, in partnership with TasTAFE, are running a "Trades Taster Program", which is designed to give Year 9/10 students an experience across three areas of trade: construction, automotive and engineering at an industry level.

Students participate in three ten-week programs in each area. Students will be assessed, and with competency, gain four units toward a full qualification.

Richard Blackwell, from TasTAFE, is currently working with the students in engineering.

The Program will be rolled out across other schools in the State in 2021.
