From the Grade 10 Coordinator
Hello families, and welcome to the final newsletter of 2023, and for some of you, the final newsletter with your child at Huonville High School. This term has gone extremely quickly, almost to the point that I wish it would go longer. Almost.
Grade 10 students have been engaging in content that will help them transition into their next stages of learning, whether that be college, TAFE, or employment. This has included Hobart and Elizabeth College ‘Step-up’ days, Work experience, Exams and Round-table interviews. After all of this, I can confidently say that all students who have engaged in this learning will be nothing short of successful in their future endeavours.
To finish off the year, we have had events such as Activities Week – a new concept to celebrate student achievement and learning throughout their 4 high school years so far. Highlights of this were Kayaking in Kingston & Laser Skirmish at the Lea.
We also had our End of Year Ceremony which saw students receive accolades for their efforts. A special shoutout to Sunil Welling, who took out seven subject awards as well as the Grade 10 Dux.
To sign off, I’d like to say thank you for engaging in our school community and being a part of the journey in 2023. I am immensely proud of this grade 10 cohort and feel privileged to coordinate them.
Kind regards,
