From the Principal - Term 4 Week 10

As we bid farewell to another school year, I am honoured and privileged to reflect on the remarkable journey we have shared together. Leading this school has been an incredible responsibility, and I am grateful for the collective efforts that have made this year a success.

One of the standout achievements of the year has been the completion of our Outdoor Seating Project, a venture that has transformed our school environment and provided a welcoming space for students and staff to connect, collaborate, and enjoy the outdoors. The positive impact of this project resonates throughout our school community.

This year, we underwent an External School Review, a rigorous evaluation that affirmed the dedication and excellence of our school. I am delighted to report that the results of the Staff Satisfaction Survey and Student Survey indicate significant progress. Notably, the percentage of students identifying an Important adult at school rose from 51% in 2022 to an inspiring 65% in 2023. This increase reflects the genuine connections and support our staff provide to our students daily.

I would like to express sincere gratitude to all our sponsors who generously supported the Outdoor Seating Project and contributed to the success of various awards at the end of the year. Your commitment to our school has made a lasting impact, and we are truly thankful for your partnership.

As we part ways with some beloved members of our staff, I extend heartfelt farewells to James Basser, who is heading to Claremont College, Morgan Parrott to Kingston High School, Carolyn Lutjens, who is retiring, Roy Classey who is embarking on new adventures, and Jabra Latham, who is pursuing creative endeavours in the world of music. Each of them has left an indelible mark on our school, and we wish them success and fulfillment in their future endeavours.

Reflecting on the year gone by, I am most proud of the positive change in our school culture and the resilience displayed by both our staff and students amid various challenges. The support from our community has been instrumental in overcoming obstacles and fostering a sense of unity.

As we approach the holiday season, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families. May this time be filled with joy, relaxation, and cherished moments. Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to the opportunities and growth that the upcoming year will bring.

Wishing you all a happy and safe holiday season.

Kindly,
