Huonville High School 2024 Grade 10 BYOL Program

laptop.jpg

Due to continuing changes and development in teaching and learning practices, it is important that Huonville High School adopts pedagogy that enhances and develops student learning in a 21st Century world.

As grades 7, 8 and 9 will be working in a 1-to-1 laptop environment in 2024, it is important for us to recognise that our grade 10 students sit outside this new program. We do recognise this shortfall and acknowledge access to technology is an important tool in assisting students to achieve improved learning outcomes.

To support our grade 10 students, a Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) program will run in 2024, to cover the period before Huonville High School is fully 1-to-1. Students who have a laptop may, by following the information provided and returning a signed Student BYOL and Acceptable Use Agreement, use that laptop to support their learning. Importantly this will allow the school to provide support where students do not have the capacity to bring their own.

The required forms will be mailed out and sent home at the start of the 2024 school year.
